Arrests have been made in connection with a stabbing in Warren last month.
Warren City Police said six individuals have been arrested: Timothy Fry, Kevin Gray and Herbert Proctor Jr., all of Warren; George Flasher, Youngsville; Jesse Parsons, Sheffield; and Frank Salsgiver, Clarendon.
Police said they responded to a fight near 910 Pennsylvania Ave. W. at approximately 2 a.m. on Sept. 22. Police reported last month that the fight involved several people and one man was stabbed in the head, among other injuries.
Warren City Police Detective Anthony Chimenti said on Friday that witness statements as well as video evidence "helped us determine the charges and everybody's role."
Gray, who was the stabbing victim, faces charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
Fry has been charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
Flasher, Parsons and Salsgiver have each been charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
Proctor will answer to charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and possessing instruments of crime.
According to the criminal complaints filed with District Justice Glenn Carlson's office, Gray "attacked Parsons, striking him in the face when he was not looking. (Gray) separated from Parsons and watched his friend Herbert Proctor get assaulted by Tim Fry." Gray then hit Fry when he wasn't looking. Proctor "did possess two fixed blade knives that were concealed on his person in a metal sheath. (He) did pull and display one of the knives prior to engaging in a physical altercation in the parking lot of Counts Bar."
The complaint notes that Proctor "engaged in a physical fight with co-defendant Tim Fry and during the fight another defendant suffered a stab would to the head." Chimenti said that the stab would was to the left side of Gray's head.
After Gray struck Fry, the complaint against Salsgiver says that "the defendant along with Jesse Parsons, George Flasher and at least one other person attacked Gray, beating him into a fetal position on the ground." Salsgiver "and Parsons kicked Gray repeatedly in the face, head and hands with their feet, causing Gray injury."
The complaint charging Flasher notes that he "positioned himself on top of the victim (Gray) and repeatedly punched Gray with both fists, as Parsons and Salsgiver kicked Gray in the head, face and hands. At this time, Gray suffered a stab would to the head and (Flasher) was covered in Gray's blood."
Chimenti said the stab wound is still under further investigation and indicated that evidence submitted to the Pennsylvania state police lab could clarify who actually stabbed Gray.
Regardless, Chimenti said, there was enough evidence to arrest all six for their roles in the incident.
As of late Friday afternoon, all six defendants had been arrested. Proctor and Flasher were committed to the Warren County Jail on $5,000 and $20,000 bail, respectively. Fry and Parsons were released on $50,000 unsecured bail and Gray was also released on $25,000 unsecured bail. Salsgiver was expected to be arraigned later in the day.
