The Youngsville Eagles notched their fourth win of the season in front of an energetic home crowd, defeating the visiting Rocky Grove Orioles in four sets Thursday night. The Eagles came out strong winning the first set 25-9 before dropping the second set to the Orioles 22-25. Youngsville rebounded quickly, taking the next two sets 25-11 and 25-7.
"That was a great win", said Youngsville coach Bev Fox. "We needed that one."
Karissa Cratty played a monster game on defense, racking up 24 digs for the Eagles.

Judi Lewis led the offense with 21 service points to go along with 15 digs. Kennedy Cratty had 11 kills and 12 digs, and Abby McLaughlin accounted for 16 service points.
Youngsville won the JV game in two sets by scores of 25-12 and 25-9. Katelyn Hall had 12 service points and Elyssa Horn had seven service points and nine digs.
The Eagles improve to 4-8 with the win and will be in action again this Saturday at the Kane Tournament.

Saint Marys 3, Sheffield 0
SAINT MARYS - Sheffield came up just short of knocking off Class AAA Saint Marys on Thursday, but Wolverines coach Tracey Vile was extremely pleased with what she saw during her team's 22-25, 21-25, 21-25 setback.
"The girls played extremely well," said Vile. "We passed the ball well and were very close in every game. Overall, it was a great team effort that came up just a little short."
Marlea Sprandle had 10 service points for the Wolverines, Hannah Vile finished with 13 assists and Kayla Curtis added five blocks and four kills.
Sheffield's junior varsity team fell in three sets, 15-25, 25-20, 11-15. Kaitlyn Borden led the Wolverines with eight service points.
The Wolverines return to action Monday, hosting Brockway. The game will be held during school hours in what has become an annual "pep assembly." Junior varsity will start at 12 p.m. with varsity to follow.

Erie Bethel 3, TCCS 1
ERIE - Tidioute Charter's season ends at 3-8 overall with an 18-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-25 loss at Erie Bethel.
"We're sad the season's over, but we're excited for the potential of next year," said Tidioute coach Margie Manning, whose Bulldogs don't graduate a single senior.
"We started as six individuals and we finished as one," she said.
Ryleigh Mahaney had seven kills and two aces for Tidioute; Anna Lindemuth five digs, four aces and 17 service points; Morgan Molek one kill, four aces, 16 points and seven assists; Robbi Kitelinger five digs, and; Desi McChesney two aces, one dig and one assist.

Cambridge Springs 3, Eisenhower 1
Against a very stout Cambridge Springs volleyball team, the Eisenhower Lady Knights played one of their best all-around matches to date during a 3-1 loss to the Blue Devils.
The Knights were close in all three of their setbacks, dropping games 23-25, 18-25 and 15-25. Ike earned a victory in the third set, winning 25-22.
"Cambridge Springs is a very tough team, but our girls played absolutely amazing tonight," said Ike coach Tina Edwards. "That was the best match we've played so far this season."
Kelsey Repke had 16 service points and nine digs to lead the Knights' effort. Melissa Vibbert added 15 points and four digs, Alyssa Peterson had 10 service points and 10 blocks and Marion Sherer had three kills.
Ike's junior varsity team was defeated, 19-25, 11-25. Mallory Trumbull finished with 13 points and four aces for the Knights.
Eisenhower returns home Tuesday, hosting Union City.
