Go Knights
The Knights Marching Band kept things lively with great music during the Homecoming Pep Assembly last Thursday.

The Silver Ring Thing presents, "Rewind - Beginning with the End in Mind" on Sunday, Oct. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. This concert-style event is for all area high school and middle school age students. The event is designed to speak honestly about dating, waiting, love, and second chances.

It will be held at the Warren Area High School. The admission price is $7 online or $10 at the door. There is also a parent seminar designed to encourage and equip parents, grandparents, and guardians to support their youth. The parent seminar will take place from 6 to 6:45 p.m. The event is presented by the pregnancy support center of Warren County and the Wiltsie Community Church in partnership with area churches.

SGES Picture Day

SGES school pictures will be taken on Oct. 18. Watch for more information on the 2012 school pictures to come home from school with students.

Making Strides

The Walk to make strides to end breast cancer will be held Sunday, Oct. 14 at Jamestown Community College, 525 Falconer St. Every step we take and every dollar raised will help save lives. You can join a team or walk as an individual. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. on the JCC campus. The event is sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

Groups from the Sugar Grove Area will be participating in the event.

Community

Lunch Schedule

The Community lunches in the area continue to be well attended. All lunches begin at 11:30 a..m . Everyone is invited to attend one of the area community lunches.

Each month lunch is held on the first Friday at the Mission Covenant Church at the corner of Matthews Run and Jackson Run roads. On the second Thursday at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church located at the corner of Race and Jamestown streets in the center of town. On the third Wednesday at the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church located in Chandlers Valley.

National Voter

Registration Day

Reminder that Oct. 30 is the last day to apply for civilian absentee ballots for the upcoming election. Nov. 2 is the last day for county board of elections to receive voter civilian absentee ballots and Nov. 6 is the general election.

Questions about the voter registration process can be answered at the Warren County Courthouse Voters Registration office by calling 728-3406. The National Voter Registration Day counts partners across the political spectrum and as a non-partisan event and is providing an outlet for Americans from all backgrounds and interest to come together to support our democratic infrastructure- exercising the right to vote by making sure all voters are registered.

Go Blue and Gold

Even though the weather is turning colder, it is still fall sports season. Come on out this week and support our fall sports programs and cheer on the athletes at Eisenhower High School. The action heats up this week with numerous matches and games to attend.

The cross country team will be wrapping up its season at the regional meet scheduled for Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. The Knights varsity football team continues its winning streak coming off an impressive win in the homecoming game last week against Cambridge Springs. Tonight they travel to Conneaut Valley for a game beginning at 7 p.m. The Knights girls soccer team will be hosting two matches this week. On Tuesday, Oct. 16 will be a match against North East and on Thursday, Oct. 18 will be a match against Iroquois. Both events will begin at 4 p.m.

The Knights boys soccer team will be traveling to Titusville on Saturday, Oct.13 for an 11 a.m. match and then have two weekly matches. They will play Seneca at home on Monday, Oct.15 and play North East away on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Both matches will begin at 4 p.m. The Knights volleyball team will be traveling to Kane on Saturday, Oct. 13 for a 9 a.m. match and then they will be on their home court playing Union City on Tuesday, Oct. 16 and a match against Youngsville on Thursday, Oct. 18. Both games will begin at 7:30 p.m.

EMHS Homecoming

Court

Congratulations to all those on the Eisenhower High School 2012 Homecoming Court. This year the court was Taylor Talasky, Alyssa Gray, Lindsey Schwanke, Elizabeth Baran, Halie VanOrd, Kelsey Repke, Ben Perkins, Jeb Fedorchuk, Andrew Onoratti, Richard Knisley, John PascuI and Jacob Johnson.

Congratulations to the 2012 Knights King and Queen, Ben Perkins and Taylor Talasky. They were crowned during the special half-time show at Friday night's football game against Cambridge Springs. A special celebration bonfire was held immediately following the football game. The players, families, and football fans stayed to enjoy the event. The EMHS Homecoming dance was held on Saturday evening.

Election Day

at the Library

Reminder to all that the Sugar Grove Library will hold its fifth annual Election Day Soup and Dessert event on Tuesday, Nov. 6. All items are homemade and the cost is a donation.

Trick or Treating

Trick or treating in Sugar Grove will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. Visit only those houses with the porch lights on.

Benefit Dinner

The Hessel Valley Lutheran Church in Chandlers Valley will be holding a benefit dinner Oct. 25 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The dinner will benefit a local single mother of three recently diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing treatment. All proceeds will go to help her make ends meet while she has to take time off from work.

Enjoy a homemade dinner of vegetable beef stew served with homemade biscuits, muffins, and dessert. Take-outs are also available. The cost is a donation.
