MARIENVILLE - Eisenhower coach Kevin Weigel said the Lady Knights gave it everything they had in a 3-0 loss against region-opponent Fairview on Monday.
That apparently took its toll on Ike for a 3-2 non-region loss at Forest Area on Tuesday.
"They were beating us to balls and our touches weren't well," said Weigel, whose Knights fall to 2-6-2. "They kid of got a breakaway just nine minutes into the game."
Forest Area scored again 12 minutes later for a 2-0 lead.
"The shots on goal were limited both ways," said Weigel.
Eisenhower started a comeback at the end of the first half.
Sidney Wallin got the ball on the left side, made a couple nice moves and scored with eight minutes left in the first half.
Taylor Talasky got a loose ball about 40 yards out, made a couple nice moves and beat the defense a few minutes later. She put a shot into the corner with 30 seconds left in the half for a 2-2 tie.
"We drilled their goalie about three times where we got it in... and it ended up going right at their goalie," said Weigel. "We had our opportunities. We just couldn't finish it."
Forest Area had less opportunities in the second half, but 11 minutes into the second half someone slipped through unmarked "and they beat us to the goal," said Weigel.
"If we played either half like we played the first half (on Monday), we may have won," said Weigel.
