Shipping eyeglasses

October 10, 2012
The Times Observer

Lion Jim Embrey and Past District Governor John Crone are pictured loading eyeglasses collected by the Warren Lions Club over the past couple of years. These approximately 5,000 pair of glasses were taken to a lab in Erie for cleaning and cataloging before being shipped to a central missionary location to be shipped overseas. They are made available to missionaries who are going to countries around the world, especially Central and South America, where they are distributed to needy persons who cannot afford such luxury. The eyeglass collection is a continual project of the Warren Lions. Used glasses may be dropped off at locations such as Crone's Drug Store, local optomotrist offices, Family Medicine, or may be given to any member of Warren Lions Club at any time.
