MONDAY'S SCHEDULE
Girls Soccer: Fairview at Eisenhower, 4 p.m.

Jr. high football
Beaty's eighth-grade football team went 1-0-1 over the past two weeks, tying Titusville 14-14 on Thursday and defeating Franklin, 34-8, on September 27. In the tie against Titusville, Beaty scored first when Solomon Gross stripped the ball from the Rockets quarterback, allowing Mitchell Bryant to scoop the ball and rush 47 yards for the score. Tristan Davis hit Gross with a pass for the two-point conversion to make it 8-0.
After Titusville tied the score, Gross popped a 48-yard touchdown run on a fourth and two play to put the Dragons back on top, 14-8. Titusville scored just before the end of the first half, setting up a defensive struggle with a tie game in the second half.
The Dragons reached the one-yard line in the fourth quarter behind the running of Gross, Colbin Constable and Nick DeSimone as well as the passing combination of Connor Guiffre to Noah Becker. The Dragons appeared to put the ball in the end zone on three straight plays from the one, but were denied and had to settle for the tie. Beaty's defense was led by Gross, DeSimone, Constable, Bryant, Duke Lilja, Derick Nowacki and Austin Brenner.
Against Franklin, Beaty scored first on a 43-yard run from Gross. Davis hit Gross with the two-point conversion to make it 8-0. Gross would add a 90-yard interception return for a score on Franklin's next drive to push the lead to 14-0. Constable kicked the extra point to make it 15-0.
Guiffre hit Gross with a 77-yard scoring pass on the next drive. The score was aided by a nifty block from DeSimone who also booted the PAT to make it 22-0. Constable would add a four-yard touchdown in the third quarter to run the score to 28-0. The final score of the night for Beaty came on a 52-yard run from Cody Marfink.
Defensive standouts for the little Dragons were Gross, Constable, DeSimone, Nowacki, Andrew Egger and Hayden Salapek.
Beaty has a bye this week and will play its final home game of the year on Wednesday, October 17 against Franklin. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.

The Eisenhower Football Boosters will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in Room 309.
Jr. high hoops
Eisenhower topped Tidioute, 18-8, in junior high girls basketball play on Saturday. Kearsten Baran led the winners with 14 points while Alicia Straight and Payton Mineweaser added two points each.
Hannah Divido paced TCCS with four points while Nettie Durstine and Sierra Hall added two points each.
The Knights host Titusville on Monday.
