Gayle Annette Carlson Ettinger, 75, a long time resident of Warren, Pa., passed away on October 5, 2012 in Goodyear, Az. due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born in Warren on November 11, 1936, to Charlie A. Carlson and Edith L. Owens Carlson and married Gary B. Ettinger in June 1957. They lived there until the family moved to California in 1978. They returned to southeastern Pennsylvania for several years before moving to Arizona in 1998.

A graduate of St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Erie, Pa. in 1957, she worked at Warren State Hospital and in private practices in Warren, Pa. and Mt. View, Ca. until her retirement in 1983.

Throughout her life, she was an avid golfer, playing at Blueberry Hill Golf Course and Conewango Valley Country Club in Warren and Pebble Creek Golf Course in Goodyear, Az.

Gayle is survived by her husband, Gary Ettinger, Goodyear, Az., daughters Lou Ettinger Johnstone, (husband Chuck Johnstone), Livermore, Ca., Lynn Ettinger Allen, (husband Peter Allen), Pleasanton, Ca., brother C. Ronald Carlson (wife June Carlson), North Warren, Pa. She is also survived by grandchildren; Stacy Johnstone, Orange, Ca., Kimberly Johnstone, Northridge, Ca., Matthew Allen, San Jose, Ca., Nicholas Allen, Los Angeles, Ca., two nieces and a nephew.
