ATHLETES OF WEEK (SEPT. 23-29): Austin Jerman and Taylor Talasky

There were several outstanding - or even historic - efforts last week, including an Eisenhower school-record 339 yards rushing and three touchdowns by two-time Athlete of the Week John Pascuzzi, two passing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns, and a 4th down-and-19 completion, by Shequan Wright in Sheffield's come-from-behind win over Coudersport, and four touchdowns by Warren's Jordan Willetts. But you can't ignore Warren's Austin Jerman, above, middle, who was 10-of-15 passing for 195 yards and four touchdowns, and had 169 yards rushing on 10 carries, for six total touchdowns. He added two interceptions and blocked a kick that Willetts returned for a TD in Warren's 60-36 win over Oil City. Jerman, with his offensive linemen, is the Times Observer Athlete of the Week, sponsored by McDonald's - along with Eisenhower's Taylor Talasky on the girls' side. Talasky, below, middle, had seven goals in Eisenhower's girls soccer team's 2-0-1 past three games.

Fact Box

CORRECTION: Talasky scored seven goals in three games prior to Eisenhower's 3-1 loss at Seneca on Thursday, not eight as was incorrectly published in Friday's Times Observer.
