Dear editor:
As primary sponsor of the PA VOTER ID RULES! RALLY, scheduled for Election Day from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. in Russell, I am extremely dismayed by Commonwealth Court Justice Robert Simpson's injunction barring enforcement of the PA Voter ID law in this year's election.
Sure, his ruling will prevent the disenfranchisement of perhaps tens of thousands of registered voters, but as an entrepreneur I deeply resent the kind of judicial activism which subverts the mandate of Republican Majority Leader Mike Turzai to marshal through legislation which will "allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania."
As loyal followers of "The Readers Speak" know, I have invested countless minutes promoting attendance and volunteerism at my Rally, even though supporters would have had to cast an ID-exempt Absentee Ballot in order to attend.
Now that Simpson has quashed the ID requirement for this election, my entrepreneurial venture, my American Dream, is DONE! Thanks a lot, Bob - feel free to show up on Election Day and use one of my 200 empty Port-A-Johns.
Reese E. Campbell, Jr.
