In its only home cross country meet of the season, the Warren girls cross country team ran to a pair of victories over visiting Harbor Creek and Union City Tuesday at the Warren State Hospital.

The Dragons' boys team wasn't as lucky, falling to both the Bears and Huskies.
Warren was able to run to a 20-35 victory over Harbor Creek and a 25-30 win in the girls race despite having just five runners. Those Dragons all finished among the top 11, including a victory from senior Ellis Beardsley on Senior Day. Beardsley's winning time was 21:00.
Anna Falvo and senior Amanda Castagnino gave the Dragons two more top five finishers, placing fourth and fifth respectively. Falvo clocked in at 21:19 and Castagnino finished in 21:52. Also helping Warren to the sweep were Deanna Hahn in ninth at 23:15 and Alyssa Cumberland in 11th at 23:32.
Warren's boys team failed to place a single runner during losses to powerful Union City and Harbor Creek teams. The Bears beat the Dragons, 15-50 and the Huskies downed Warren, 16-39. The Dragons' first finisher was Seth Johnson who was 13th in 19:35.
Christian Olson and Max Pierson were next for Warren, finishing 16th and 17th in a virtual tie at 20:07. Eric Zavinski was 18th in 20:23, Mark Reiff 19th in 20:26 and Daniel Pierson 20th in 20:54.
Both teams will be back in action Saturday at the Dirty Dawg Invitational.
