Eisenhower's girls soccer team is moving in the right direction.

Taylor Talasky netted two goals and Sidney Wallin added another as Eisenhower defeated the visiting Conneaut Eagles, 3-1, on Tuesday at Eisenhower High School.

"We did a great job controlling the ball, and our passing looked very good," said Knights coach Kevin Weigel, whose Knights have won two in a row and are 2-3-2 overall and in Region 3. "It was a good team win."

Goal celebration
Sisters Taylor and Jackie Talasky celebrate an Eisenhower goal during the Lady Knights’ 3-1 win over Conneaut on Tuesday at Eisenhower High School.

Talasky started the scoring early in the first half, beating the Conneaut goalkeeper for her first goal of the match. The Eagles struck back midway through the half before Wallin took a pass from Talasky and put the Knights up 2-1.

Eisenhower would score once more in the second half, this time on a Talasky corner kick, and held off the Conneaut rally. Rachel Dinger came up with eight saves for Ike.

"We had the majority of time of possession and got several scoring opportunities early," said Weigel. "Our defense is continuing to play strong. Bizz Baran and Brooke Stanton do a great job back there."

The Knights will return to action in search of win number three on Thursday when they visit the Seneca Bobcats. Seneca defeated Eisenhower 3-0 in the teams first meeting this year.

Paige Parmenter scored a goal, assisted by Hayleigh Hishman, for Ike's junior varsity team in a 3-1 loss.
