The Allegheny Community Center will host the AARP Driver Safety Class on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 11-12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This class is for Pennsylvania drivers who have not taken the course before or took the course more than 3-1/2 years ago. This course will be presented at the Allegheny Community Center (ACC), 42 Clark Street, Warren.
This course is intended to increase personal safety by covering the basics of defensive driving, new laws, and new vehicle and road features. If you are older than 55, you may be eligible for an automobile insurance premium reduction or discount of five percent for three years (ask your insurance agent all drivers in the household may have to take the course) and there are no tests (written or driving). You must have a Pennsylvania license.
Each class is only $14 per person, ($12 for AARP members) paid by check to AARP or cash to the instructor before the class. You do not have to be a member of AARP to take the course. Advanced registration is recommended, as class is limited to 25 attendees.
