VOLLEYBALL: Dragons complete season sweep of Cranberry

Warren completed a non-region sweep of Cranberry on Monday with a 3-0 victory over the Berries at Warren Area High School.

The Dragons (3-4) were especially dominant in the opening two games, winning 25-13, 25-14. The hosts then closed out the match with a tight 28-26 victory in the third game.

Rachel Lasecki paced the Dragons effort with 12 kills on Monday and teammate Valerie Latimer contributed 10 kills of her own. McKenzie Merenick finished with 12 digs and Teah Bines added 21 assists and six service aces.

The junior varsity team dropped a close 2-1 decision. After winning the opening game 25-22, Warren's JV's were defeated 22-25 and 16-18. Jennifer Daugharthy finished with seven kills and four aces, Kaitlin Sedon added 11 assists, Lizzy Marsh had four aces and Alexis Munksgard had five aces.

Warren returns to action Tuesday at Oil City.

North Clarion 3, TCCS 0

TIONESTA - TCCS fell to 2-5 on the season with a 3-0 loss to North Clarion on Monday.

Game scores were not available for both the varsity and junior varsity matches.

Ryleigh Mahaney led the Lady Bulldogs with three kills and two blocks on Monday while Robbi Kightlinger finished with one kill, one dig and two aces and Anna Lindemuth added five aces, three kills and two blocks.

The Lady Bulldogs were defeated in two games in junior varsity play. Peyton Hittie had two aces and Emalei Schaberl added two kills in defeat.

TCCS returns to action Thursday, hosting East Forest in its annual Pink Out game.
