GERALD LAMISON

Gerald A. "Jim" Lamison, 79, of Kittanning, Pa., passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012. Born August 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Arthur W. and O. Ethel Smith Lamison.

Jim served in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an air traffic controller at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. He was an active member of the NRA and the West Kittanning Fire Department as well as an avid outdoorsman and woodcrafter.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, and his three daughters: Joyce Hoile (Keith) of Lakewood, Ohio, Jill Lamison of Kittanning, and Janet Younkin (Stuart) of Shephardstown, WV; five grandchildren: Jared Hoile (Ann), Jordan Hoile, Jennie Glenn Miller, Joan Hoile, Joy Hoile; one greatgrand son: Lucas Hoile; a sister, Lois Beatty, New Florence, Pa.; two nephews: David Beatty and Jon Beatty (Michelle); three stepsons, four stepgrandchildren and two stepgreatgrandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Enterline Lamison.

Friends will be received from 2:00 4:00 and 7:00 9:00 p.m. Wednesday October 3, at the SnyderCrissman Funeral Home in Kittanning, Pa. and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Kittanning, the Rev. A. David Meneely officiating.
