Ending Alzheimer’s

October 1, 2012
The Times Observer

An increase of $2,000 over last year was realized through local efforts at the Walk to End Alzheimer's Saturday at Betts Park. Thanks to the efforts of co-chairpersons Laurie Sheriff of Golden Living Kinzua, Lisa Winger of Aseracare Hospice and nearly 100 volunteer walkers who solicited pledges, a total of approximately $8,500 was raised in the effort to end Alzheimer's, according to constituent relations manager Amanda Hurd of Erie, who oversees 13 counties. "Our total raised is right around $8,500," Hurd said. "This is fantastic. Around $3000 was brought in at the walk alone. The best news about this number is that it is around $2,000 more than what was raised last year, which is just tremendous. I am very happy and the committee should be very proud."
