Fall is just around the corner and with it comes our fall fundraiser, Basket raffle. Donations are being accepted for the basket and you can see it at the Sheffield craft and bake sale on Oct. 27 and the Senior Expo on Oct. 26.

Flu shots have been scheduled for October 15 from 9-12 with Kane Home health. No cost with Medicare card.

Kitchen band is looking for some new faces to join us in our travels and lots of fun. This month we will go to the Rouse and Bridges of the Rouse to entertain.

Don't feel like driving to Warren for appointments or shopping sign up for TAWC bus. The bus will pick you up at your door every Wednesday and the cost is only 25 cents for each stop. Call the center and we will do the scheduling for you.

We are always looking for pool players so with outdoor activities coming to an end stop in and see our new pool table and join in the fun.

ACC provides a delicious Bistro lunch every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.in the beautiful dining room overlooking the Allegheny River consisting of specialty sandwich plates, cob salad, coconut shrimp plate, soup or fruit and homemade desserts. This is in addition to the regular lunch served at 12 noon. The Bistro lunch requires no reservation and is available both as an eat-in or take-out or both. Public is cordially invited.

This is a reminder to stop at ACC to get your free blood pressure test done by professional nurses in the Wellness room every Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. It's the right thing to do!

ACC offers a new fascinating rummy-like game called Mah Jongg that is played with tiles instead of cards. Originating in China, it dates back to the time of Confusius. Come to ACC on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. and learn how to play. Open to the public!

All non-casino trips leave from the CRI parking lot located on Pennsylvania Avenue West, just over the railroad tracks on the left (along the river), unless otherwise instructed to park elsewhere. Salamanca Casino trips depart from the Big Lots parking lot at the Warren Mall, as always. Not sure, just call 723-3237!

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. M-F with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Mon. & Wed. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays. Hot lunches are available Mondays-Fridays at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers Oct. 1-5: soup and sandwich Monday, spaghetti Tuesday, pizza Wednesday, chicken salad Thursday and chef surprise Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations.
