Mrs. Joanne Spence Lacy, 83, of Sheffield, went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2012 at 5:30pm in the Rouse Warren County Home.
Joanne was born in Kane, April 12, 1929, to the late Winfield and Carrie Simpson Spence.
Mrs. Lacy enjoyed traveling with her husband D.L. in their Winnebago with their camping club. She also enjoyed baking, making the best pies ever, but her greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her husband Datus L. Lacy whom she married August 31, 1974; a daughterinlaw Karen Hulings, Warren; three grandchildren, Brielle Reitz and husband Jon, Greg Hulings, and Michael Hulings and wife Theresa; three greatgrandchildren, Emily Reitz, Zachary Hulings, and David Hulings; and a nephew Richard Ryan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Albert G. Hulings, March 1971; a son Gary A. Hulings, April 2010; a sister Pauline Spence Ryan; and a brother Lyle Spence.
A funeral and committal service will be held Monday, October 1, 2012, at 12:00 noon in the Borden Lloyd Funeral Home and burial will follow in Sheffield Cemetery. Reverend Marcus Briggs, Chaplain, Rouse Warren County Home will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the noon service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Warren General Hospital Cancer Center, Paws Along the River or a charity of choice.
