Eisenhower grabbed its first win of the season Wednesday, defeating a shorthanded Maplewood squad, 8-0, at Eisenhower High School.
The Tigers were forced to play with only nine players - as opposed to the usual 11 - because of a rash of injuries sustained over the past week.
The Lady Knights got on the board quickly when Taylor Talasky slotted home a pass from Kelsie Morine just minutes into the game. Talasky added a second goal when Paige Parmenter slipped her a pass on the right side and she knocked it off the far post and in. Talasky would eventually add two more goals in the second half to finish with four tallies overall.

Battle for the ball

Younger sister Jackie Talasky added the third and final goal of the first half on a long shot from the edge of the box. Hayleigh Hishman was credited with the assist.
Eisenhower ramped up the pace even more in the second half. Taylor Talasky scored on a breakaway just 20 seconds in and then assisted on a Sidney Wallin goal moments later.
Wallin would score two more in the half to earn a hat trick. One Wallin goal came on a pass from Reilly Franklin and the other from Taylor Talasky.
"The most important thing is that we got everybody into the game," said Eisenhower coach Kevin Weigel. "We haven't had many JV games, so it was nice to get everybody some playing time."
The Lady Knights (1-3-2) are idle for the rest of the week and return to the field Tuesday against Conneaut.
