The Watson Township supervisors were among the groups encouraging the Warren County Commissioners to take a 25 percent share of timber receipts from the Allegheny National Forest rather than a set amount from Secure Rural Schools.
At their monthly meeting, the supervisors stated their preference for the percentage of receipts and voted to send a letter to the commissioners. The commissioners approve the percentage on Wednesday.
Watson Township residents and camp owners are reminded that the Fall Trash Clean Up Day will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the township community building. Batteries, solvents, propane tanks, and hazardous materials will not be accepted. Tires will be accepted at a fee of $2 for passenger vehicle size tires and more for larger tires.
The supervisors received $1,680.48 in Foreign Fire Insurance tax distribution funds. Those dollars will be divided equally among Pleasant, Tidioute, and Cherry Grove volunteer fire departments.
Fall road inspection will be conducted at 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. A budget meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28.
The supervisors' next regular meeting is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17.
