The Woman's Club of Warren opened its 2012-2013 centennial year with the popular annual president's tea with more than 50 members and guests in attendance. Members of the board of directors provided refreshments. The serving table was graced by an arrangement of white roses and assorted greens. President Tana Fegley and vice president Judy Champlin poured tea and coffee. After everyone was served and seated, Fegley honored past presidents in attendance each with a red rose. Past presidents included Elizabeth Jones, Mary Connaro, Carolyn Evans, Liz Horsley, Cathy Grant and Kathy Masterson.
Laura Megill, a member of the centennial campaign committee, was introduced and explained the focus of the campaign which include repairs to the existing structure, replacement of outdated equipment, and new projects like a sign for the front yard and paving the back parking lot. Megill said all members would be receiving letters outlining the campaign in the mail within a few days. She encouraged all members to donate at whatever level they are comfortable, hoping for 100-percent participation.
Karen Davis, chairwoman for the centennial year celebrations, presented a booklet featuring mini biographies of early presidents and prominent women in the club's history. Dressed in period attire, Davis spoke about the first two presidents in the booklet and elaborated on the brief biographies. Other women in the booklet will be presented at future meetings.
