Planners approve two subdivisions

The Warren City Planning Commission approved two minor subdivision applications during its Wednesday morning meeting.

City Planning Director David Hildebrand said John Swedler of 800 Conewango Ave. filed a subdivision request to annex .103 of an acre.

"Lot one is being annexed to the Swedler property" Hildebrand said. "From the standpoint of the city looking this over we don't have a problem with this. It gives additional land to the second lot and squares these two up to be useful lots."

Another application from Sean Kiley for a minor subdivision request at 219 Eddy St. was also approved.

The subdivision would annex 5,035.891 square feet from 219 Eddy St. to the Kiley property, Hildebrand said.

"As far as both properties just switching boundary lines it does not cause a concern as far as the the 5,000 minimum amount of square footage," Hildebrand said. "When we changed that ordinance a few years ago, that seems to help quite a bit with the creation of small lots in the city."

"I'd like to get a update on the parking ordinance," Chairman Don Nelson said.

Hildebrand said the plan is to bring the parking ordinance back to the commission's October meeting and try to finalize the ordinance then.

Nelson said he expects to wrap up the ordinance by the end of the year.

"We've got the legwork done. It's just a matter of us reviewing what we already talked about... and making sure we've got it all right and pushing it on to council," Nelson said. "I think we're in good shape."
