PREP GOLF: Warren girls win dual match

September 21, 2012
The Times Observer

UNION CITY - Warren's girls golf team earned a win in a rare dual match on Thursday, defeating Union City 213-234.

"As a team we did very well," said Warren coach Tom Smoulder. "If you compare our first match in August to this match at Union City, our score has improved by more than 20 strokes. This shows that my team has the desire to win and its hard work is starting to pay off."

Warren's Morgan Smith provided what was far and away the best round of the afternoon. Her 44 was seven strokes ahead of teammate Megan Smoulder's 51 and 11 strokes better than any one Union City opponent.

Libby Hammond was third for Warren with a strong 55 followed by Clancy Fyock's 63, Abby Cromwell's 66 and Katelyn Hecei's 67.
