Joyce Lorraine Ruhlman Schwab, 79, of 1089 Old Pittsfield Road, Pittsfield, Pa., formerly of 1818 Pleasant Road, Warren, passed away at the Rouse Home at 10:16 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2012, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Schwab was born February 23, 1933, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late Virgil and Grace Pierce Ruhlman. Joyce was a 1951 graduate of Warren High School, and a Warren resident most of her life. She had a nurturing demeanor and always put others before herself. She loved her family, and especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Sampson, Warren, Pa., and Kamie Hartley and her husband, Francis, Orange City, Fla.; two sons, Kurt Schwab, and his wife, Kristie, Lakewood, NY and Kent Schwab, Youngsville, Pa.; six siblings; eleven grandchildren; three greatgrand children; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Frederick W. Schwab, whom she married on May 23, 1953; six brothers and sisters: Gerald, Marion, Florence, Richard, Marie, and Robert; and her soninlaw, Cliff Sampson.
Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Friday, September 21, 2012, for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Rick Rohlin, pastor, Praise! Fellowship, officiating.
Burial will follow in Warren County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, 1128 State St., Ste. 301, Erie, Pa. 165011920, or a charity of choice.
