Albert L. Wawrejko, 72, of Columbus, Pa., died at his Route 6 home on Tuesday, September 18, 2012.
He was born on June 17, 1940 in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Joseph and Mary Czech Wawrejko.
Al was raised and educated in Corry. He attended St. Edwards School (now St. Thomas) and graduated from Corry High School. Following graduation, he served with the US Army. After his discharge, he worked at the Howard VanTassel Dairy Farm and Foamex prior to being employed at Corry Jamestown Corporation (later Corry Hiebert). Al worked there as a welder and then as a towmotor operator until his retirement. Following retirement, he worked for the Elmview Diary and cared for his neighbor's farm.

Al was a member of Columbus Community Evangelical Church. He was a lifetime member of the Corry Central Labor Club. He enjoyed attending the local dirt track races, riding four wheelers, hunting, gardening and especially spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death on July 28, 2002 by his wife, Betty L. Culver Wawrejko, whom he married on September 25, 1965 in Spartansburg, Pa.
Al is survived by a daughter: Charise A. Henry of Columbus, Pa., a sister: Anne Morton and her husband Thomas; and two brothers: Joseph Wawrejko and his wife Helen, and John Wawrejko, all of Corry, Pa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa. on Sunday from 25 p.m. and on Monday at Columbus Community Evangelical Church, 66 W. Main St., Columbus, Pa., from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 11 a.m. Pastor Les Utegg will officiate.
Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Pa.
