A Warren man accused of sexual assault of a boy less than 13 years old will face further court action following a preliminary hearing on Wednesday before District Magistrate Cynthia Lindemuth.

Kelly E. Patz, Warren, was charged with rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors.

Police said he allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior with a male victim when the victim was between the ages of 10 and 14 and Patz was 26 to 30 years old. The incidents allegedly occurred between 1998 and 2002.

The case was bound over for trial in Court of Common Pleas following testimony by the male victim, who is now an adult.
