Charged. Warren City Police said Jakob Smith, 18, was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with corruption of minors after an investigation into a complaint from the parents of a 16-year-old girl. According to police, the victim's parents repeatedly told Smith to leave their daughter alone, but Smith corrupted the victim by convincing her to defy her parents and engage in a sexual relationship with him between June and September. Police said Smith, who is on probation for the same offense, was arraigned before District Justie Glenn Carlson and placed in the Warren County Jail.
Conewango Twp.
Charged. Conewango Township Police said Roger Dalo, 62, a resident at the Red Carpet Inn, 4115 Market St., was arrested Wednesday after having several confrontations with other permanent residents of the Red Carpet Inn since the beginning of July. Acording to police, Dalo made threats of physical violence, left items in front of the other residents' doors, and on two occasions caused damage to another person's vehicle. Police said Dalo, who was charged with stalking and two counts of criminal mischief, was taken before District Justice Laura Bauer, and bail was set at $2,500. Dalo was remanded to the Warren County Jail for failure to post bail.
Glade Twp.
Charged. Warren-based state police said a 16-year-old juvenile at Warren Area High School was charged with harassment at noon on Sept. 9. According to police, the juvenile struck another 16-year-old juvenile in the back of the head with a closed fist on numerous occasions. Police said charges were filed at District Justice Laura Bauer's office.
Pine Grove Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on S. Main Street in Russell at 6 p.m. Sept. 18. According to police, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Warren was northbound on S. Main Street and attempted to negotiate a left-hand curve at a speed greater than what was reasonable considering the conditions at the time. Police said he lost control of the vehicle, struck an embankment, rolled over and came to rest facing south. Police said the operator was transported to Warren General Hospital for treatment of a minor injury and was released.
Sugar Grove Twp.
Charged. Warren-based state police responded to a mini-bike accident at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 15 on Wilson Road near Rounds Hill Road. According to police, Ronald Chamberlain, 53, Warren, lost control of the mini-bike he was operating and laid it down in the roadway. Police said they found Chamberlain to be intoxicated and arrested him for DUI. Police said a criminal complaint was filed with District Justice Laura Bauer's office charging Chamberlain with DUI and several other traffic violations.
