Golf Scramble

A Golf Scramble will be held Sept. 22, at Cable Hollow Golf Course, Russell. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with tee off at 9 a.m. Proceeds from this event will benefit Love In the Name of Christ of the Brokenstraw Valley. Team cost is $60 per person or $240 per 4-person team. Your entry includes: 18 holes of scramble golf with cart, refreshments prior to and during the event, lunch and awards after the event, on-course games/contests, and a special gift for all participants. Please call the Love INC business office at 563-3394 if you would like to register.

Love in the Name of Christ is a non-profit, donor support organization that partners with churches to help those in need in the Brokenstraw Valley. The call center opened in early May and 9 calls were received that first month. Volunteers have logged over 550 service hours; working in the business office, managing the help line, and/or assisting the various ministries that are part of Love INC.

The churches who partner with Love INC form Gap Ministries which provide a resource or service to meet ongoing needs that are not being met by agencies or government. Currently partner churches of Love INC of the Brokenstraw Valley "fill in the gaps" with furniture, clothing, food, baby items, paper products, personal care items, linens, household repairs, and transportation to appointments. As other "gaps" are found in the community new ministries will form. Those in need of assistance are asked to call 563-3398 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Once needs are verified by the agency, area church members are then mobilized to meet that need. Love INC is a people based organization; serving to offer a hand up not a hand out. If you would like more information on Love INC, the golf scramble, or would like to make a donation call business office at 563-3394.

We are so grateful to all the businesses that support our library every year, especially when there are so many programs and organizations that ask for their help throughout the year. We just couldn't run this reading program without them."
