BEMUS POINT, N.Y. - Eisenhower's Devin VanGuilder and Anthony Amroski came in fourth and fifth, respectively, to lead the boys cross country team to a fourth place finish at the Maple Grove Red Dragon Invitational Cross Country Meet on Saturday at Long Point State Park.

"I thought the team did well competing against some of the bigger schools," said Eisenhower coach Darlene Beach, whose Ike boys team had its best finish in the three years of competing at the invitational. "They are starting to come together as a team, and they set their goals high."

She said most of the Knights had their best times of the season on the "flat, fast course."

In the girls race, Julia Bauer continued her strong season, finishing 17th out of 101 in 21:36.46. Teammate Lacey Stanko was 55th in 24:11.68, Kate Daugharthy 60th in 24:45.18, and Grace Thompson 73rd in 25:42.14.

Maple Grove was the top girls team out of 12 scoring, and Williamsville North won the boys meet out of 16.
