MARY SPROVERI

Mary E. Sproveri, 92, formerly of Corry, Pa., died at the Rouse Home, Youngsville, Pa., on Friday, September 14, 2012.

She was born on February 22, 1920 in Pittsfield, Pa., a daughter of the late Clarence W. and Arlabelle Johnson Nelson.

Mary was raised and educated in the Pittsfield and Youngsville areas and graduated from Youngsville High School. She moved to Corry in December of 1940 where she worked for Raymond Manufacturing until 1947. She then worked for Corry Area High School in the cafeteria, retiring in 1983 after 23 years of service.

She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Corry. Mary enjoyed reading, needlework and puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Sproveri, whom she married in December of 1946 in Corry, Pa., a son David E. Sproveri and five brothers; Allen, Charles, Warren, Joseph and Wilbur Nelson.

Mary is survived by a daughter Barbara M. Beggs and her husband William of Corry, Pa., a son William A. Sproveri and his wife Patricia of Pittsfield, Pa., and a brother Martin E. Nelson and his wife Nancy of Pittsfield, Pa. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Mason and Adrienne Beggs, Eric Sproveri and his wife Danielle, Jason Sproveri and his wife Melissa, Michelle Bacca and her husband Bret, Kyle Sproveri, Adam Sproveri and his wife Tammy and Nicole Sproveri, 2 stepgrandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 203 W. Washington St., Corry, Pa., on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Rev. Mark Hoffman will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Corry, Pa.

Memorials may be made to St. Thomas School, 229 W. Washington St., Corry, Pa. 16407.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.
