Officials check out the damage after a transformer exploded on Pleasant Drive Friday evening. The driver and a passenger in a van that was passing by at the time of the explosion were transported to Warren General Hospital for evaluation. According to Penelec External Affairs Manager John Shimko, a storm caused the wire to fail, bringing four spans of high voltage wire down, tripping a breaker at the sub-station. The event affected 388 customers and Shimko said he expected that power for all customers would be restored by midnight,
