George and Shirley Probst of 400 North Main Street, Youngsville, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple was married on September 6, 1952, by the Rev. Harold Lindquist at Youngsville Evangelical United Brethren (Methodist) Church. They have resided primarily in Youngsville, there raising three children, twin sons Don and Ron, and a daughter, Sonia.
The Probst children will host an open house at their parent's home on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. Friends and family are invited to drop by and share favorite memories.
George and Shirley have always cherished time with family. Their son, Don, married Barbara Waugaman and resides in Youngsville. Ron married Heather Devore and resides in Greenville, S.C., near his children, Trevor (Brenda) Probst and Alexis (Casey) Wickline. Sonia lives in Youngsville with her husband, Maurice Bennett. The Probsts recently celebrated the birth of their first great-grandchild, Reid Anson, son of Trevor and Brenda Probst.
