In memory

September 15, 2012
The Times Observer

Friday afternoon, students, faculty and guests gathered at St. Joseph School for a ceremony to bless a new cross which has been hung in the gymnasium. The cross is approximately four feet tall and made out of cedar, a wood in common use at the time of Jesus. The cross was dedicated to the memory of Andrew Donick for his work with the school. James Zavinski fashioned the cross using internal pins instead of nails or glue. Principal Dr. Howard Ferguson spoke to the assembly, Fr. Richard Toohey (shown) spoke and performed the blessing and Seminarian Thomas Trocchio read from the Bible.
