The Rev. Chuck Robertson from Food for the Poor will be at First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Ave. and at St. John's Lutheran Church, 200 Pleasant Dr., this Sunday, Sept. 16.
Pastor Robertson is a retired Evangelical Lutheran Church in America pastor. He is a graduate of George Washington University and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. He served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955. Pastor Robertson organized three mission congregations in the Maryland and Virginia Synods and also served as a missionary in Peru. He served as pastor of St. Peter's and St. Mark's Churches, Miami, FL. He and his wife Leah have six adult children and live near Orlando, Fla.
Food For The Poor, named by The Chronicle of Philanthropy as the largest international relief and development organization in the nation, feeds millions of hungry people. This Christian agency provides relief programs and projects helping children and the poorest of the poor by providing food, housing, health care, education, water projects, emergency relief and micro-enterprise assistance in the Caribbean and Latin America.
