For her accomplishments in collegiate softball as well as golf, Warren Area High School and Pitt-Bradford graduate Kristy Zavinski is the newest inductee into Pitt-Bradford's Athletic Hall of Fame. Zavinski was selected by a committee of coaches, alumni and faculty and staff and will be honored at a September 29 ceremony.
Zavinski played on the softball team from 2004-2007 and the golf team from 2005-2007. As a member of the golf team, Zavinski finished third at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference tournament during her junior season. As a senior, she ranked second on the team in scoring average and was a medalist in a match against Ursuline College.
Zavinski was a dominant pitcher in softball as well, leading the Lady Panthers to three AMCC titles and three straight trips to the NCAA Tournament. Her teams went 103-50-1 during her career and totaled 51 AMCC wins - the most by any school during that span.

She owns school records for wins in a season (18) and career earned run average (1.43) and is the program's all-time leader in wins (54), appearances (89), complete games (74), shutouts (13) and innings pitched (526 2/3). She also ranks among the school's top ten in career hits (107) and RBI (66).
Zavinski was a four-time all-AMCC selection and was named the Pitt-Bradford Female Athlete of the Year in both 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.
"It is a great honor to be inducted into the Hall of Fame," said Zavinski. "I was lucky enough to have had successful high school and college careers fueled by wonderful coaches and amazing teammates. But most of all it was supported by my parents who are sharing this honor with me today."
A 2003 Warren graduate, Zavinski was named co-MVP of the Tri-County Athletic Conference (TCAC) with teammate Jill Spargo her senior season; both went on to play college softball. For her high school career, Zavinski had a pitching record of 27-2 and 152 strikeouts for the Dragons with a 1.06 E.R.A. in 188 innings. She hit .331. She was a first-team TCAC all-star her junior and senior seasons.
