Barbara A Bates,73, of Hobe Sound, FL, passed away at home on Monday, September 10, 2012. She was born January 24, 1939 in Youngsville, PA, the daughter of the late Alvin Jackson and Marian Jackson.
Mrs. Bates was a graduate of Youngsville High School in Youngsville, PA.
Barbara had worked for the National Forge, the Rouse Home, and as a Warren County Auditor while living in Youngsville. Upon arriving in South Florida, she went to work at Mosler Automotive, Florida Power and Light, and Rybovich Boatworks.

Barbara enjoyed sewing, knitting, bowling, and driving with her convertible top down. She was an avid walker and enjoyed spending time at the beach.
She is survived by her mother Marian Jackson of Youngsville, PA; her daughters Bonnie Sickler and her husband Gary of Spring Creek, PA, and Bobbi Hicks and her husband Mathew of Hobe Sound, FL; her son Barry Bates of Birmingham, AL; her grandsons Andrew Sickler of Durango, CO, Greg Sickler of Durango, CO, Justin Sickler stationed in Honolulu, HI, and Robert Hicks of Hobe Sound, FL; and her greatgrand daughter Lila Scherer Sickler of Durango, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Bates on January 24, 2007.
