Election
Dear Editor:
We have an election for President in just a few weeks. The past four years have been rough, and unless we vote in new leadership, I shudder to imagine what will happen in the future.
In the last four years the present administration has thoroughly changed the dynamics of this country. What ever happened to the checks and balances between the branches of government? We have a president that does what he chooses, and we let it happen.
What ever happened to innate pride; the desire to work to the best of one's ability in order to receive payment for his/her efforts? A helping hand during rough times is one thing, but a complete dependence on government handouts because it's easier to sit back and see what can be received is another; the latter premise appears to be the new norm in far too many instances. A young man, barely a teenager, once told me that he would follow in his family's footsteps of living off welfare; that was his goal in life. How tragic and sad for someone to have so little motivation to sustain himself and possibly a family as an independent adult.
Where was God when the Democratic platform was being planned? It certainly wasn't in the forefront. Now the democrats pronounce that we have "God-given abilities." The platform also condones same-sex marriage and abortion. How can they admit on one hand that God is part of our being, while on the other hand utterly contradict what God's word teaches?
Voters need to be visible on Nov. 6th and turn back America to the American principles on which this country was founded. We always learned about the 3 important Rs- Reading, 'Riting, & 'Rithmetic. In 2012 Rs have surfaced in a different light: Reflect how far we've drifted from our forefathers' ideals, Resolve to vote Responsibly in order to Restore our government to what it was intended, a Republic under God. We should look for the Rs to define us in the 2012 election.
Sincerely,
Norma Bankoske
