Catherine D. Boardman, age 83, of Erie and formerly of Sheffield, Pa. passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Millcreek Community Hospital. She was born in Warren, Pennsylvania on May 5, 1929, a daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Mullen) Williams.
Catherine had worked as a nurse's aide and later was a small business owner in the Sheffield area. She loved her family and would do anything for them. Catherine enjoyed her visits out of state to visit her children and grandchildren. She liked being with her friends at Nova Care Rehab. She also enjoyed taking trips to the casino with her daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Dwight Carlson, her second husband Ken Boardman, a brother Francis "Bud" Williams and two grandchildren: Larry Ackerman and Amy Boyer.

Catherine is survived by six children: Jeffrey Carlson of Warren, Linda Ackerman, husband Ron of Sheffield, Frances Groner, husband Pat of Erie, Helen Remsburg, husband Tim of Derry, N.H., Sabrina Bosselman, husband Dennis of Berlin, Ma. and Tammy Cacek, husband Steve of Tiona, Pa.; fourteen grandchildren and several great and greatgreatgrandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Mary Tipton of Edinboro and Rose Ann Bartlett of Ocala, Florida, many nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Tommy Core.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street and on Thursday from noon until the time of a service at 1 p.m. with Msgr. Robert Brugger. Burial will take place on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Warren County Memorial Cemetery, in the Garden of the Ten Commandments Section.
