Ken Osborne will present a concert of gospel music at the Tionesta Alliance Church, Rt. 36 S., Tionesta, at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16. A love offering will be received.
Ken is thankful for the privilege to serve the Lord in his daily life and through the music ministry God has entrusted him with His love for the Lord is communicated through his music. His desire is to do God's will and be used of Him to reach the World with the message of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Ken was raised in a Christian home in northern Michigan. At an early age he asked the Lord to forgive his sins and to make him His child. Music was also a big part of family life. His mother played the piano and taught his two sisters and himself to sing.
In 1962, Ken went to Owosso College and sang in a male quartet representing the school. At thant time he met his wife, Ann, and they were married in 1965. In 1968 they moved to Traverse City, Mich., and started to attend the College Terrace Wesleyan Church. In a few weeks Ken was asked to be the song leader for the worship services and soon took on the duties of the entire music program of the church, a position he served in for 21 years.
Ken also sang with two quartets spanning ten years, putting on concerts in Michigan and the Midwest. This experience helped him to develop his talents in the area of concert ministry.
In March of 1990 Ken and Ann started a full-time ministry in southern gospel music. Ann operates the prerecorded music accompaniment system. Their desire is that the music and the words of the songs will draw the listeners into the presence of God and help them to see that Jesus is the answer.
