September 7, 2012
The Times Observer

The Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., Warren, will host an AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) Driver Safety Class from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10. This class is for Pennsylvania drivers who have taken the course before (approximately three years ago).

This course is intended to increase personal safety by covering the basics of defensive driving. Those age 55 and older may be eligible for an automobile insurance premium reduction or discount of five percent for three years (ask your insurance agent all drivers in the household may have to take the course) and there are no tests (written or driving). You must have a Pennsylvania license.

Each class is $14 per person, ($12 for AARP members) paid by check to AARP or cash to the instructor before the class. You do not have to be a member of AARP to take the course. Advanced registration is recommended, as class is limited to 25 attendees. The course will be taught by John Colter . For more information on the course, see the AARP Web site www.aarp.org/home-garden/transportation/driver-safety.
