Sept. 8: At Chapman State Park: Bird Banding with Emily Thomas Don't miss the fall migration! Join Emily Thomas, an avid birder, to learn about the birds of Chapman State Park. Mist nets will be set up to catch the birds. Participants will enjoy handling and identifying various species. Meet at the Environmental Learning Center, 8 a.m.; geo-caching 101 - Join the Park Naturalist, at the Amphitheater, for an introduction to the high tech game of geo-caching. After learning the basics, enjoy searching for caches in the park. GPS units will be provided but feel free to bring your own, 1 p.m.

Sept. 21: At Chapman State Park: Sunset & Moonlight Paddle - Come to the Mooring Area by the Warming Hut for a short lesson on basic boating safety and then take a canoe tour on the lake and the creek. Kayaks will also be available to try. Pre-registration is REQUIRED as boats are limited. You may bring your own canoe or kayak but you must still register. Sept. 22: At Chapman State Park: Extreme Home Edition: Bats Join the Park Naturalist in an effort to save Pennsylvania's bats! Help with the installation of bat boxes throughout Chapman State Park. Meet the Park Naturalist at Pavilion #4 to learn about the many species of bats and then make your very own to take home, 6:30 p.m.
