RALPH RANKIN

Ralph C. Rankin, Jr., 73, of N. Center Street, Corry, Pa., died at his home on Friday, August 31, 2012.

He was born at home in Tionesta, Pa., on December 24, 1938, a son of the late Ralph V. Sr. and Anna May Howell Rankin.

Ralph was raised in the Tionesta and Titusville area. He later moved to Spring Creek and then Bear Lake, where he attended school in Corry and Panama, NY. Following school, he worked for the Rose Lake Dairy Farm in Bear Lake, Pa. As a young man, he served with the US. Navy where he was stationed on the Destroyer Wadleigh and participated in the landing of the Marines in Beruit, Lebanon in 1958. He continued serving in the Mediterranean Sea until he received his honorable discharge in 1963.

Following his discharge, Ralph married Patricia A. Howlett on January 19, 1963 in Bear Lake, Pa. He worked for many years at Associated SpringBarnes Group and retired from the Heat Treat Department there on June 1, 2001.

Ralph loved all kinds of sports and his dogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on September 21, 2004 by his wife, Patricia, also by four brothers; Wayne "Tommy", Bruce, Richard and Robert Rankin.

Ralph is survived by a daughter, Robin McNallie of Chicago, Il., three sons; John Rankin and his companion Leigh Mitchell of Corry, Pa., Todd Rankin and his wife Barbara of Hagerstown, Md., and William Rankin of Oakland, Ca., his friend and companion of seven years, Jean Zajac of Wattsburg, Pa., four sisters; Juanita Bouch and her husband Edward of James City, Pa., Imogene Savko of Bear Lake, Pa., Helene Merritt and her husband Russell of Clymer, NY., and Gerry Black and her husband James of Sugar Grove, Pa., two brothers; Frank Rankin of Titusville, Pa., and Walter Rankin of Corry, Pa. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation or funeral services held.

Burial will be in Lottsville Cemetery, Lottsville, Pa.

Memorials may be made to Regional Home Health and Hospice, 13675 Route 6, Corry, Pa. 16407.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.
