Hearing screening

Beaty picture

day changed

Picture Day for Beaty-Warren Middle School students in grades seven and eight has been changed from Sept. 20 to Oct. 5. Flyers will be sent home with students approximately one week before picture day.

Class to gather

Warren Area High School Class of 1966 will have dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at 5 p.m. at Ribs 'n' Bones, 6524 Jackson Run Rd., North Warren. All class members, spouses, and friends of the Class of '66 are invited. AOC on the move

On Thursday, Sept. 6, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will ride bikes in Ashville, N.Y. Participants will meet at the Ashville General Store on Rt. 474 for sandwiches then they will ride the surrounding area. For more information, call Pat Spicer at 757-8331 between 9 and 11 p.m.

On Sunday, Sept. 9, the AOC will hike the Minister Creek Trail off Rt. 666 in Forest County. This eight-mile loop trail-with its giant boulders, pristine stream, and flat-rock overlook-is one of the most popular trails on the Allegheny National Forest. Participants will meet at Howe's True Value on Rt. 6 at 1 p.m. For more information call Jim Houghtling at 688-0302.

MS support offered

The annual Warren Multiple Sclerosis Support Group Picnic will be held Wednesday Sept. 5, at the Brokenstraw Valley Campgrounds on Route 6. The group will eat a little after 6 p.m. Hot dogs, condiments and soda will be provided. Those attending should take table service and a dish to share. Anyone affected by MS, their family and friends are invited. Reservations are required for the picnic, but there is no charge to attend. Win auction baskets

The Warren County 4-H Horse Program offered two auction baskets for the public to win. All baskets were on display at the 4-H Center during the Warren County Fair. The funds raised support yearly 4-H horse programs and fees including Camp Giddy-Up-Go. Winners of the 2012 4-H Auction Baskets include: Denise Otteni - car care basket; Julia Hazeltine - horse care basket.

College women to meet

The Association of College Women will have a picnic at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Betts Pavilion, Betts Park in Warren.

Auxiliary to meet

The Ladies Auxiliary to Marshall Larsen VFW Post 314 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the post home, Brown Ave., Clarendon.

Gun show

A gun show will be held at Youngsville Fire Hall Sept. 8-9. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Class to breakfast

Warren High School Class of 1940 will have lunch at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Bob Evans, North Warren.

To dance Sunday

The Slovenian Polka Boosters will have all types of dancing for their new membership drive from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Johnsonburg Fire Hall. Del Sinchak of Cleveland, Ohio, will provide music. The event is open to the public. Admission will be $8, and the day will include raffles, refreshments and a jam session. Music in the Park

The music of the Pete Pepke Generation (jazz) will be featured at this week's Music in the Park from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday at Soldiers & Sailors Park, Pennsylvania Ave. W. at Hickory St., Warren, weather permitting. The series is sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank.
