Warren
DUI. Police said John Young, Warren, was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be under the influence of alcohol and a fugitive from justice. Police said Young was taken into custody, arraigned in front of District Justice George Gregory, and released on his own recognizance.
Crash. According to police, Scott M. Bennett, of Cyclone, was charged with careless driving after a crash at 6:10 a.m. Friday. Police said Bennett was driving on Route 6 at the Conewango Twp. line, when he fell asleep at the wheel at a left curve in the roadway. The vehicle struck the side of the "smart bridge," police said. Bennett was not injured.
Glade Twp.
Crash. According to police, Stephen E. Breon, 26, of Grand Valley, was charged with a violation of driving at safe speed after a crash at 2:45 p.m. Saturday on Hemlock Road in Glade Township. Police said Breon and passenger Brittany C. Breon, 22, received minor injuries in the crash. Two other passengers, ages 1 and 3, were not injured. According to police, the car dropped off the right shoulder on a gradual left curve, Breon lost control of the vehicle on the loose gravel. The car then crossed both lanes of traffic and struck the left shoulder embankment, police said.
Mead Twp.
Missing Person. Warren-based state police reported that a man was swimming in the Kinzua Reservoir, became disoriented, and exited the reservoir on the opposite side from which he had started. According to police, Sam Leo, of Erie, continued to look for Route 59 until dark and spent Sunday night in the woods. He hiked out of the woods onto Hemlock Road at 11:39 a.m. Monday and was found. Agencies involved in the search were Glade, Clarendon, Pleasant, and Sheffield volunteer fire departments, U.S. Forest Service, Wolf Run Marina Ownership, McKean County Dive Team, Warren County Sheriff's Office, and Erie County Dog Teams.
Harrassment. Two women were charged with harassment after a verbal argument at 6:30 p.m. Friday on Homestead Street in Brokenstraw Township turned physical. Warren-based state police did not identify the 47-year-old female nor the 23-year-old female.
Possession. Warren-based state police reported that a concerned citizen contacted state police to report an erratic driver traveling west on Route 6 and 59, from the Sheffield area headed toward Warren. Police located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. The driver, Brandon Michael Hostovich, 32, of Warren, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and found to be impaired. A blood test was performed at Warren General Hospital. Police said charges against Hostovich include possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of DUI, and summary traffic violations.
Crash. Anthony F. Guiffre, 27, of Warren, was charged with a violation of driving at safe speed after a crash at 6:45 a.m. Sunday on Forest Road 160 (Jakes Rocks Road) in Mead Township. According to police, Guiffre failed to negotiate a curve to the right, his car crossed the eastbound lane, went off the roadway, struck a tree, and then rolled over. Guiffre declined medical treatment for minor injuries, police said.
Youngsville
DUI. Warren-based state police reported that Claude Harris Bower, of Youngsville, was charged with DUI after a traffic stop at 8:38 p.m. Saturday on Main Street, Youngsville. Police said a blood test at Warren General Hospital determined that Bower's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit.
