VOLLEYBALL: Warren advances to Fort LeBoeuf tourney playoffs

WATERFORD - Warren was eliminated in the playoffs of the 15-team Fort LeBoeuf Volleyball Tournament on Saturday after advancing through pool play.

In the morning pool, Warren went 1-3, losing to Cochranton, 20-25, 16-25, then splitting with eventual tournament runner-up General McLane, 18-25, 25-16. The Dragons secured the second seed after the afternoon pool, going 3-3 and splitting with every team - Girard, 25-24, 21-25, Northwestern, 18-25, 25-13, and Fairview, 25-23, 24-25.

Warren was eliminated by Bradford, 15-25. Fort LeBoeuf eventually won its own tournament.

The Lady Dragons were led on offense by Valerie Latimer with 17 kills on the day to go along with six blocks.

Rachel Lasecki added 16 kills and 29 digs. Allie Morrison chipped in with 13 kills.

McKenzie Merenick tallied 55 digs, Teah Bines had 21, and Bailey Dilks 14. Brittni Merenick had five blocks and Allie Sedon seven.
