Ride to benefit vets

September 1, 2012
The Times Observer

Members of Warren Bicycling Group meet with Ed Burris, vice chairman of the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation in advance of the fourth annual Warren County Dirty Dozen - Century Ride to begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at Allegheny Cyclery on Pennsylvania Ave. West. Pictured are Bill Sorvelli, Burris, Jay Endres, Tom Groff, and Brian Haines. The 100-mile ride includes "12 of the worst hills in Warren County," according to Sorvelli. The event will raise money for Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation (www.paveteransfoundation.org). Those who wish to participate in the endurance ride or make a donation to the foundation may do so at Allegheny Cyclery. Participants are asked to make a $12 donation - $1 per hill on the century ride or $2 per hill for the 50-mile, six-hill half century.
