For the time being, Crescent Park Dental Clinic at Warren General Hospital is out of service.
Karen Coombs, Warren General's director of community relations and development, said Thursday that "services at the Crescent Park Dental Clinic will be temporarily suspended."
That suspension of services began July 19.
Hospital officials expect the clinic, which has offered full-service dental care since December 1999, to be back. "We anticipate services at the Crescent Park Dental Clinic will resume shortly," Coombs said.
"The numerous and extensive changes recently made in health care at the national level have had a significant impact on hospitals and medical offices nationwide, especially smaller community-based hospitals like Warren General," Coombs said. "These changes precipitate the need for Warren General Hospital to critically evaluate the dental services at the Crescent Park Clinic."
Hospital-affiliated dental services are still available in Tidioute.
"The Tidioute Dental Clinic remains open," Coombs said. "If you have an immediate dental need, please contact the Dental Clinic office in Tidioute at 814-484-3096."
Crescent Park Dental Clinic was "primarily established to provide high quality dental care for members of Warren and Forest counties who have limited access to care due to lack of financial resources, specifically targeting the child population," Coombs said.
The clinic provides services with cooperation and support from the United Fund of Warren County.
