There is a 24-page special section entitled "Fall Sports" in Friday's Times Observer. The section includes the Fall Sports coaches' looks at their high school sports teams, with schedules and rosters, including Eisenhower senior running back Johnny Pascuzzi, above left, and Youngsville senior running back Rocco Gatta, right, morphed into one. There is also a feature story on the positive direction of the rival football teams, and the Week 1 preview for all four county football teams. Varsity programs this fall include football at Eisenhower, Youngsville, Warren and Sheffield, volleyball teams at those four plus Warren County Christian School and Tidioute Charter, cross country at Warren, Youngsville and Eisenhower, boys and girls soccer teams at Warren and Eisenhower, boys golf at Warren and Eisenhower, and girls golf and girls tennis at Warren.

If you rebuilt Eisenhower senior running back Johnny Pascuzzi, left, and Youngsville senior running back Rocco Gatta, right, into one running back, he’d be a monster — much like the cover of the Fall Sports section. On their own, the beastly backs represent two of four Warren County high school football teams with playoff aspirations entering the 2012 season, something Ike head coach Jim Penley and Youngsville head coach Luke Alex would love to see. If you think the ‘Backyard Brawl’ is well-attended, imagine a Knights vs. Eagles District 10 Class A playoff game two or three weeks later.
