August 31, 2012
By GLENN SLOCUM , The Times Observer

BUSTI, N.Y. - Stateline Speedway's Labor Day Fun Fest will feature racing on Friday and Saturday night on the big track and Kart racing Monday on the little track.

The points racing is done and the champions are set. This weekend, it's all about the fun of racing and maybe a little about the money and a whole lot about the bragging rights through the offseason.

The weekend will end the racing for 2012 with only the awards banquet remaining.

The banquet is scheduled for Oct. 12 at the Seneca Allegany Event Center.

Friday's program at the big track will see the Super Late Models qualify through time trials for a $3,000 winner's purse, Crate Late Models running for $1,500, the E-Mods for $600, the Super Sportsmen for $400 and the Super Challengers for $200.

The Limited Late Models and Street Stocks will replace the Sportsmen and Challengers on Saturday night, which will also feature the Super Late Models and Crates Late Models along with a UEMS sanctioned $1,000-to-win E-Mod event.

The Karts will be featured Monday. The future of racing will be on display with several second- and third-generation racers in the field. Last names of Scott, Kosinski, Ruhlman, Cressley, Briggs, Furlow and Crocker are among those entered. The Kart gates will open at 8:30 a.m. with hot laps at 10 a.m. and racing at 10:30 a.m.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with racing at 7 p.m. both nights. For more information, visit www.stateline-speedway.com.
