The North Country Trail Pennsylvania Trail Council meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Lions Den in Sheffield (4 S. Main St.). The Seventh Annual Johnny Appleseed Festival also will be taking place Oct. 5-7 (www.johnnyappleseedfest.net).
The public is invited to the Allegheny National Forest Chapter of the North Country Trail dedication of the Queens Creek Shelter. It will be held Sunday, Oct. 7. To reach the shelter, follow SR# 2002 Hearts Content Road, to FS# 116 road to FS# 543 trailhead parking then walk to the shelter. Participants will meet at the parking lot at 1 p.m. and at the shelter at 2 p.m.
