Mary B. Holcomb, 92, of Warren, PA, died Monday afternoon, August 27, 2012 at Warren General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born March 23, 1920 in Water Valley, Mississippi to the late Cornelius and Zeralda Weir Buckley. She has resided in Warren since 1943. She had been employed at the Warren County Courthouse as Director of Domestic Relations for 20 years, retiring in 1965. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the church altar guild for many years.
Mary is survived by 2 sons James L. Holcomb and wife, Alana of Warren, PA, Richard G. Holcomb and wife, Nancy of Pleasant Twp., 4 Grandchildren Scott Holcomb, David Holcomb and his wife, Jessica, Cathy Wskiewitz and husband, Thomas, Kari Holcomb, 3 GreatGrandchil dren Taylor, Kyle, and Zack Holcomb, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George E. Holcomb, who died March 8, 1992, whom she married April 17, 1938 in Westfield, NY, 2 Sisters Nora Recktenwalt, Fern E. VanArsdale, 3 Brothers William, Ralph, and Jake Buckley.
Friends may call at St. John Lutheran, 200 Pleasant Drive, Warren, PA, on Wednesday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM, when a funeral and committal service will be conducted with Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through St. John Lutheran Church Altar Guild.
